Classic Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs are so yummy! They also don’t require a lot of time or ingredients. This is the same recipe I put the meatballs on top. You must try the Barbecue Meatball Stuffed Deviled Eggs. Deviled eggs are such good go-to appetizers. If appetizers are on the menu, there’s a great chance that deviled eggs will be one of the appetizers. I love seeing what flavors complement deviled eggs. If you are looking for different variations of deviled eggs, try the Jalapeno Deviled Eggs also.

I love how creamy these deviled eggs are. Sometimes, I even diced fresh jalapeños, removing the seeds to add to the filling to give a slight crunch that’s sure to add even more flavor.

Sometimes, you may want to shy away from making deviled eggs to not bother with boiling them. I get it. Boiling eggs and trying to peel them used to be quite annoying to me. There are so many different helpful tips, however, I had to find what works for me. That’s the same advice I can offer you as well. Figure out what works for you and stick with it each time.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • ¼ c mayo
  • 1 tbsp diced pickled jalapenos (you can use fresh jalapenos if you choose)
  • 2-3 tsp pickled relish
  • A pinch of salt
  • Cake decorator piping bag (optional)

Instructions

  • Boil eggs.
  • After the eggs are boiled and cool enough to handle, peel them carefully. Cut vertically. Carefully remove the yokes, placing them in a bowl while plating the whites on your dish of choice.
  • Mix together the mayo, diced jalapenos, and salt.
  • If you are using a piping bag to put the filling into the white, keep a toothpick near. The diced jalapenos can sometimes cause the filing to not flow out properly. The toothpick is used to slide in the tip and rotate those jalapenos around or pull them out.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Here’s how I boil and peel my eggs each time:

  1. First, bring water to a boil with one teaspoon of white distilled vinegar.
  2. Once the water has come to a boil, carefully add in the eggs. Be careful not to crack them and make sure they are not already cracked.
  3. Boil for 15 minutes.
  4. After the 15 minutes of boiling, carefully remove the pot from the stove. Pour off the hot water. Sit the pot in the sink and allow cold water to run on the eggs. You can also the eggs to a bowl and pour ice water on them. Allow the eggs to sit in the cold water for about 5 minutes.
  5. Pour water off of the eggs.
  6. Peel the eggs.
  7. Cut them in half vertically (up and down. Not left to right unless you cut a little of the edge of each egg so they could sit stable if you choose to cut them horizontally).
  8. Remove the eggs yolks, follow the instructions above for this deviled egg recipe.
  9. Mix all of the ingredients together.
  10. Fill in the eggs.
  11. Enjoy!
