Journaling in June

Hey, y’all! And happy June! I wanted to say hi. I’ve been amazing. How have you been?

Two weeks ago, my family went on vacay and spent time near the beach. We LOVE the beach! Many times when we visit the beach, at dawn, I’ll get up and stare at the water from the window. When I look at the water, it appears to connect with the sky. I call it, “Where forever meets forever”. It’s so beautiful.

Last week we had a carnival party. It was so much fun! We had a lot of delicious foods and treats that we usually always see at carnivals. We invited family and friends over. My babies really had fun! We all did! All of our guests talked about the good time they had.

I am so super excited! Guess what? My husband, my mom, and I are about to start training for a marathon that’s in January 2024. One of my friends said she is interested in training for it also. I have been saying for a long time that I wanted to participate in a marathon. I didn’t go through with it, but now I have made up my mind to go for it. I am excited and nervous at the same time.

You may be wondering what the title of this letter means, “Journaling in June.” Well, I journal throughout the week, every month, but I decided to do a little of the style of blogging I used to do back in the day. The blog before the food blog. Lol! I was thinking of journaling my thoughts on this journey of preparing for training. I haven’t officially begun training. I’m starting by getting my mind and body in training mode. The training consists of following a chart for some weeks to build up endurance for a marathon. So, basically, it’s an exercise chart to practice a few times each week. For the month of June, I choose to go raw vegan starting Monday. My husband says he wants to join me. My mom said, “No indeed!” LOL!!!!! (Update: she called me while I was typing and said it sounds like something she can do. Lol!)

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve probably been on a wellness journey with me before.

That’s me with the scarf and the baggy red shirt back in 2018.

Honestly, I don’t eat the type of foods I post every day. (I came up with a challenge called, Wellness For 21 (and beyond) at the very beginning of Love, Jane).

I try to be balanced with my eating, though I’ve realized that I have gotten off track with that. I’ve gotten off track a number of times. I’m now trying to get back on track consistently. I had initially decided I wouldn’t share this journey online.

I thought, ‘What if I don’t do as well with my training as I had originally anticipated?’

That’s the beauty of this process. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about challenging myself to do something I’ve been wanting to do. If I don’t do as well, I can just try again.

A few of my supporters genuinely asked why I don’t post on Instagram as I used to. I tell them I post on Love, Jane (blog).

This is a post I had typed to post, but I changed my mind. Do you know what that means? I am exactly where I am supposed to be in this moment of Love, Jane. This was my decision last year. I feel so blessed. I’m looking forward to the new, fun, and beautiful opportunities for Love, Jane. I don’t know what they are yet. What I do know is that whoever I collaborate with will be absolutely and beautifully blown away to experience what Love, Jane is all about.

I don’t have a specific day I’ll be sharing my journals. Just keep checking back, okay? I am so excited about eating raw vegan for 25 days. I would’ve started June 1st, but I wanted to get some recipe development projects submitted first. I also wanted to prepare my mind to eat raw vegan. I have been researching tips for beginners. I went vegan for the first time from 2019 to 2020. (Not raw vegan though.) That’s why I chose the theme of “Veganuary” for the month of January. As a food blogger, we choose different themes in January or just post healthier foods. That way if someone has new goals, they can easily find a recipe. Also, we try to post dishes that have ingredients that are in season. I do not plan on going 100% vegan. I just strive for eating balanced again in July and onward, and of course, raw vegan starting Monday.

Thank you so much to my growing list of subscribers. Feel free to comment and/or send me a message.

Have you ever participated in a marathon? Do you have any tips you’d like to share?

Have an amazing week!
